data science

Data Science focuses on the theory and practice of data science including mathematical and statistical foundations, computational approaches, and communication considerations. Students will also learn about data science-relevant probability and statistics, algorithms, big data systems, machine learning, data mining, and analysis of networks. Students will learn how to design, conduct, interpret and communicate data analysis tasks and studies using methods and tools of statistics, machine learning, computer science, and communications.

machine learning

Machine Learning is for students interested in a career as an information engineer, data scientist, or data mining engineer. Students focus on the methods and techniques of creating models and algorithms that learn from, and make decisions or predictions, based on data. Students will apply the learned tools and techniques to a wide variety of real-world problems in areas such as marketing, finance, medicine, telecommunications, biology, security, engineering, social networking, and information technology.
